In your business, you become the motivator, the rock, the engine and the driving force. Therefore, you need time to regenerate, renew and invigorate yourself so you can continue to be the very best version of yourself. You must allocate time to recharge your batteries and to repair. Otherwise, your engine will run down and so will you. Salon owners spend so much time worrying and caring for staff, clients, family and friends that very often there is very little left over for yourself. Just leave a little space for yourself, to do absolutely nothing, every day.
And, I mean, do nothing…..keep it simple. If you complicate this time, then it becomes something else. For example, if you have a company, then it becomes a social occasion. Or, even reading the paper distracts you from yourself. Then you have moved away from the concept of a little space for yourself. Keep it simple and keep it for you.
Give it a try – even 10 minutes a day will make a difference to your overall wellbeing.
